Mysterious Floating City Appears In The Sky Over China

Onlookers, some who are said to have videoed the bizarre event, were said to be mesmerised as a towering city of sky scrapers appeared from the clouds.

First thousands reportedly saw a ghostly alien city floating over Foshan in the Guangdong province of China.

A few days later people in the province of Jiangxi, China, also reported seeing a similar cloud city.

#2. Thousands of people were said to be stunned by the apparition

Weather experts have explained the phenomena as natural mirage, an optical illusion called Fata Morgana.

Fata Morgana can be seen on land or sea and involves the optical distortion and inversion of distant objects such as boats, which can appears as skyscrapers because the images become stacked, when rays of light bend as they pass through air of different temperatures such as in a heat haze.

But the mystery has sent conspiracy theorists into over drive.

#3. A similar, if not more detailed, phantom city seen over China in 2011

There were previous reports of a similar sighting in China in 2011.

YouTube channel Paranormal Crucible said in a video report: "The footage captured by a local resident appears to show a huge city floating in the clouds.

"The apparition, which was witnessed by hundreds of shocked residents, only lasted a few minutes before completely disappearing."

The channel speculated it could be "the result of a project blue beam test."

Project Blue Beam is a prolific conspiracy theory which believes NASA will one day

simulate an alien invasion of Earth or second coming of Christ through holograms.

Serge Monast, a conspiracist from Quebecois, first predicted in the 1980s it would happen by 1983, 1996 and then 2000.

One online poster noted: "Notice the group of buildings is repeated three times? If it isn’t someone making it on their computer, it seriously could be project blue beam."
The Paranormal Crucible video added: "But added: "Or a temporal vortex, a possible parallel universe material briefly into our own reality."
"It is also possible, considering China's technological achievements that a top secret holographic technology was tested over a heavily populated area in an effort to gauge the public reaction."

Buddha Statue Spotted On Mars ... Or Is It Just A Rock Formation?

To us, it just looks like a rock.

A "Buddha"-like statue has been spotted on Mars (above image) and, according to the headline about it on Mirror.co.uk, it's "held up as 'proof' that intelligent life existed there."
Following the thread of this story leads to some questionable facts that suggest the red planet is covered in ancient relics and artifacts.
The trail points to ufosightingsdaily.com, that headlines this object as "Stunning Martian God Found On Mars!" with the date of its discovery listed as October 2015.
UFOsightingsdaily's Scott C. Waring, a self-proclaimed UFOlogist, actually rides the fence when he writes, "I think we have seen this statue before, but never this close up. ... [It] shows a face and head turned to its right, with breasts and a plump stomach, shoulders. The photo alone should be enough to convince the United Nations that intelligent life once existed on Mars, but NASA doesn't want anyone to know the truth."
First of all, Waring is correct when he mentions seeing the statue before, but not correct that it was "never this close up."
Exactly a year ago, right after NASA's Curiosity rover snapped a picture on Mars (Oct. 7, 2014) that revealed this "statue" image in a group of rocks, Waring's ufosightingsdaily posted (on Oct. 13) a story and enhanced close-up of the statue-like object, under the headline: "Sitting Statue Discovered On Mars." Date of discovery: October 2014.
Question: Why would ufosightingsdaily allege that the statue figure was only just discovered this month when it also made the same claim a year ago? The site further states the statue was found by YouTube channel Paranormal Crucible, which offers many visual examples of bizarre things on the red planet.
The site even took the NASA statue photo and enhanced it to bring out some far-out features, as shown in the following video:

"Due to the poor quality of this NASA image, we have to rebuild it, using colorization techniques and a little artistic license. It would appear ... that Mars did, indeed, have an advanced culture, a culture intelligent enough to create monuments of their kings or gods," according to Paranormal Crucible.

Over the last few years, other "alien" items have supposedly been photographed on Mars -- things that NASA routinely dismisses as misidentified rock formations. These include an iguana, a floating spoon, a traffic light, ancient cities, humanoid figures, pyramids, a finger, thigh bone and a door handle. The list goes on, and you can check out a few of these peculiar Martian rock anomalies in the slideshow below.
And let's not forget some of the strange things photographed on our celestial neighbor -- the moon. Last year, Internet users spotted a tall, shadowy, human-like figure, standing and casting a long shadow on the lunar surface.
The credibility of these reports doesn't hold water -- even newly-discovered Martian water -- when the facts simply don't support the claims.

NASA has revealed it is aiming to set up a human colony on Mars by 2030.

The space agency's report NASA's Journey To Mars claims the red planet is the "next tangible frontier for expanding human presence" and states it believes such a mission is achievable.
"Our human and robotic explorers will expand knowledge and discover the potential for life beyond Earth," it says.
"Our goal is not bound by a single destination. We seek the capacity for people to work, learn, operate, and sustainably live safely beyond Earth for extended periods of time.

A colony would need to sustain human life on the planet for years

"We will achieve this goal with a growing number of international and commercial partners, realising economic benefits and strengthening America's leadership on Earth and in space."
If such a mission got off the ground it would be conducted in three phases.

Testing of a deep-space habitation facility would begin, including analysing concepts to reduce supply needs through recycling to enable astronauts to become Earth independent.
An asteroid redirection mission in 2020 would aim to collect a boulder from a near-earth asteroid and ferry it to the proving ground for investigation.

The facility would require only routine maintenance and harvest Martian resources to create fuel water, oxygen and building materials.
The report reveals that one of the most important challenges of a human mission to Mars is keeping the crew safe for up to 1,100 days when they cannot return to Earth in an emergency.
Sustaining long periods of microgravity also increases the risks of bone loss, fatigue, a loss of clear vision, and general illness for the crew.
The report says NASA will "leverage the Proving Ground with science missions and capability demonstrations to close the remaining gaps and ensure we have the ability to get to Mars, land safely, live and work productively, and return."
